What ex Biafran warriors told Buhari

Eastern police offers who sustained injury during the Nigerian Civil war and have been retired and pardoned, have thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for paying their pension, suing for oneness in the country and that war is over forever.

The war veterans in the Nigerian Police Force were granted Presidential Amnesty by former President Olusegun Obasanjo on May 29, 2000, graciously granted approval for their pension entitlements.

They have also appreciated President Buhari and prayed God continue to bless him for ensuring Nigeria did not divide.

Chief Matthew Udeh, the President of Association of Retired War Affected Police Officers, who spoke on behave of members, also called Buhari a leader with forthrightness.

“We believe Nigeria will forever be one and the war is over forever and ever

“May God continue to bless President Muhammadu Buhari for having mind of indivisibility for Nigeria. I am fulfilled today, all  Association of Retired War Affected Police Officers are happy.

Udeh, who was an Assistant Superintendent of Police before the civil war, added, “We show our gratitude to Buhari for listening to our cry for over forty years and running”.

On his part, Mr. Fidelis Oyakhilome, who is the President of Association of Retired Police Officers of Nigeria, also thanked the Federal Government and PTAD for fulfilling their promises to treat police officers fairly.

He also commended retired officers for exercising endurance and patience in these years.
