Big Brother Naija, BBNaija, housemate, Khafi, has disclosed that she did not have sex with her love interest, Gedoni.

She reiterated that she is still celibate and would not have sex on the show.

Khafi disclosed this to other housemates while they shared stories of things unknown to other people about them.

The news came as a surprise to many fans as Khafi was earlier reported to have had sex with Gedoni while he was still in the house.

However, during a Q and A session on his official Twitter page on Monday, Gedoni refuted claims that he had sex with the police officer.

According to him, Khafi has been celibate for eight years.

Also Ike confirmed that he and Diana, a fellow housemate planted a condom by Khafi and Gedoni’s bed as a prank which sparked rumours that the duo had sex.

Ike told a shocked Khafi that he initially wanted to plant the condom for Omashola and Tacha but was almost caught by the latter, causing him to settle for Khafi and Gedoni.

Reacting to the news, Khafi said, “Everyone was going to think it was me and Gedoni but my mind is clear, my conscience is clear, it’s not us. It was very funny.

“Me and Gedoni looked at each other and was like, no; I am a very physically affectionate person. Nothing will happen in the house,” she said.

The Enugu State House of Assembly has approved the appointment of 15 special advisers to assist Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi in the discharge of his duties. Chief Edward Ubosi, Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, at the plenary on Tuesday in Enugu, read a letter by Ugwuanyi to the assembly requesting the approval for appointment of special advisers, NAN reports. The leader of the house, Mr Ikechukwu Ezeugwu moved a motion that the request should be laid and accepted by the house and given immediate consideration. Ezeugwu referred the members to section 196 (2) and (3) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended, which provides that the governor of a state has powers to appoint any person to assist him in the performance of his duty. According to him, section 2 states that the number of advisers, their remuneration and allowances should be as prescribed by law or by resolution of the state house of assembly. The Deputy leader of the Assembly, Mrs Onyinye Ugwu seconded the motion. In a related development, the Speaker constituted a committee for the selection of various assembly committees. Ubosi said that within the first 30 days after inauguration of a new assembly, it should appoint a committee for the selection of its various committees. Autonomy for state legislature, judiciary should not be compromised, says Buhari

Published

President Muhammadu Buhari Tuesday in Abuja said efforts to ensure autonomy for state legislatures and judiciary will further strengthen democracy and deepen inclusiveness of citizens by guaranteeing fairness for ordinary Nigerians.

https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js

Receiving Report of the Presidential Implementation Committee on Financial Autonomy of State Legislature and Judiciary, President Buhari said the government will study the report and recommendations, and take an appropriate decision.

“I went through a terrible time getting here for the three times I contested elections. That’s why I want to stabilise the system so that others will not pass through the same experience.

“Both young and ordinary Nigerians depend on leadership to ensure justice is always done. So we must ensure that trust is not compromised. This administration will take the report seriously,’’ he added.

In his remark, the Chairman of the Committee, immediate past Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, said implementation of the recommendations will entrench constitutionalism, democratic principles and separation of powers.

https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js

“The recommendations clearly spell out that if uniform modules for implementation of financial autonomy for state legislature and state judiciary are approved for implementation across 36 states, it will no doubt strengthen Nigeria’s democratic principles, practices and public governance,’’ he said.

Malami added that the committee had observed that most states honoured the constitutional provisions for financial autonomy in the breach, than in observance, noting that the legislature and judiciary remain the last hope of the common man and should be given autonomy.

He said the committee consulted with state governors, Chief Judges of states, Speakers of State Houses of Assembly, Civil Society Organizations and relevant stakeholders, including members of the public.

The Presidential Implementation Committee on Financial Autonomy of State Legislature and State Judiciary was inaugurated by President Buhari on March 22nd, 2019, to fashion out strategies and modalities for implementation of the financial autonomy of the state legislature and state judiciary in compliance with Section 121 (3) of the 1999 constitution (As Amended).

Power of Women: 5 times Super Falcons made us super proud to be Nigerian

Published

on

https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js

The Super Falcons have just played their last game in the 2019 Women’s World Cup as Germany came out tops in the game with 3 goals.

The Giants of Africa still have the nation proud as they not only won the African football trophy for a record-breaking 11th time, but they also qualified for the knockout stages of the Women’s World Cup for the first time in 20 years.

The Falcons have always been a constant source of joy and inspiration, as they continue to overachieve and do our nation proud.
In honor of these iconic ladies, let’s take a short trip down memory lane and run through 5 times the Falcons made us super proud to be Nigerian.
Lucky Number 7
In case you’re ever in an argument and need some bragging rights on Nigerian football, look no further than this audacious record – The Super Falcons won the first seven AWCON tournaments. Let that sink in for a second.
From 1991 – 2006, the Falcons held on to the crown of African Football Queens, and in the process, established a legacy that will never be forgotten. This is one of the few records in world football that may never be broken.
The Meteoric Rise Of Asisat Oshoala
The meteoric and thoroughly deserved rise of Falcon’s starlet Asisat Oshoala is one of the most remarkable stories of African Football.
She has had stints at Liverpool and Arsenal, and currently plays her trade at Chinese club – Dalian Quanjian F.C, where she emerged as top scorer at the just-concluded football season.
Her success has been so impressive that its impact has greatly exceeded football, Oshoala has become an icon for young ladies in Nigeria, an aspirational figure which epitomizes the Nigerian tenacity, and potential for greatness.
It’s no surprise that brands like Amstel Malta – firm advocates and pioneers of the Nigerian passion and desire, have been strong supporters of the Super Falcons.
Since being unveiled as the official Malt drink of the Nigerian football team. Amstel Malta has been behind the girls, cheering them to victory and using their success as perfect narratives of the Power Of Women.
We Only lost 5 Times In 20 Years
During our first 20 years of women football, the Falcons only lost 5 times. Their dominance on the African football scene was so much, that teams would go into matches well aware that they only ever had a slim chance of leaving with a draw.
More impressively this was achieved with very minimal funding and without a lack of proper footballing structure as the football association was still in its infancy. Despite the cries for better working conditions and better pay packages, their performances never dipped and falcons consistently overachieved for 20 years.
Now with better management and with more corporate sponsorship from some of Nigeria’s biggest brands including Star and Amstel Malta, we can only imagine the success that awaits the Falcons. Our wait for a World Cup trophy may just be about to end.
Can I get an Amen Anybody?
King of the “African Women Footballer of the Year Awards”
Nigerian men’s football hasn’t had a lot of success at the individual awards for African footballers. Despite Jay-Jay Okocha’s illustrious career, he was often beaten to the award by the equally impressive Cameroonian – Samuel Eto’o.
However, the exact opposite is the case when it comes to female football. A Nigerian has won the award 10 times out of a possible 15. This astonishing feat includes double wins by Cynthia Uwak, while Perpetua Nkwocha has won the award a record-breaking 4 times, Asisat Oshoala and Mercy Akide round up the list of previous winners of the award, with both earning the individual prize thrice and once respectively.
Nigeria To The World
One of the best parts of this unprecedented success by our girls is the worldwide exposure this has provided for the great nation of Nigeria. Our female football is always a source of positive buzz for Nigeria.
The girls have also made a good habit of displaying Nigerian culture during the games, with goal celebrations involving the girls bursting a “Shaku Shaku” move and celebrating the beautiful Nigerian culture.
For all the negative trope that sometimes surround the country, Nigerians are still often known as wholly happy people and these girls often epitomize this with their football.
Our resilient and enthusiastic spirit is one of the key things that identify us as Nigerians and despite the odds, our falcons continue to excel.
We celebrate our falcons as the football stars, recently blew our minds in the new Amstel Malta campaign with Tiwa Savage, Linda Ejiofor, CeeC, Tonto Dikeh, Dakore Egbuson, Kemi Adetiba and Yetunde Babaeko, having us celebrate the power of women!
Congratulations Super Falcons!!!

Tinubu gets major backing to succeed Buhari for 2013 presidency

Published

on

https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js

Former Minister of Works, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe has declared that a national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu was the best person to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

The former Minister, who recently dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, said he was going to support the former Lagos Governor to emerge President in 2023.

Ogunlewe, who had never been on the same page with Tinubu politically, made the sudden U-turn, adding that nothing in life is static.

“I have been reading and watching a lot of comments about it. I believe 2023 should be thrown open,” he told Sun.

“Nobody should be shut out. There is nothing wrong about Southwest showing interest. We are talking about democracy.

“To shut out some people or group is undemocratic. Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu wants to contest, let him contest.

“What is the noise about Tinubu all about? Is Tinubu not qualified to contest? I will support Tinubu if he wants to contest.

“Tinubu has paid his dues. If Tinubu wants to contest, let him contest, and let Nigerians decide his fate.

“Tinubu is a dogged fighter. He has triumphed over many challenges. He has seen it all. He can do it if given the chance.

“Nothing in life is static. Tinubu is from the Southwest, and anything for the progress of Southwest, I’m for it.

“If the 2023 project is for Southwest interests, then I’m now on the same page with Tinubu, and I have no apology for it.”
