Terrorist Leaders in North Central Nigeria Show Willingness to Surrender– Military Reports

Date:

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has announced that several terrorist leaders in Nigeria’s North Central region are expressing interest in surrendering and laying down their arms. This development was shared by the Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba, during a press briefing on Thursday in Abuja.

Maj.-Gen. Buba stated that the military is actively creating “surrendering corridors” to facilitate safe passage for those willing to abandon their activities. He emphasized that the terrorists now realize they are no match for the military’s capabilities.

“The options available to them are clear: surrender or face elimination on the battlefield,” Buba noted. “In response, some terrorist leaders, commanders, and fighters have indicated their willingness to surrender.”

This move is part of the military’s broader strategy to weaken terrorist groups in the region and restore stability.
