FC Barcelona announced Wednesday that it has extended the contract of soccer superstar, Lionel Messi till June 30, 2021.
Messi got wedded to his heart-throb and childhood friend in Argentina few days ago.
The club in a statement said, “Pen will be put to paper in the coming weeks, after he comes back to the team for pre-season training.
Although the club did not explain further about the details of the deal, Marca sports however said on Tuesday the inclusion of 300million Euros termination clause.
Messi whose current contract will run out in June 2018, joined FC Barcelona in 2000 at the age of 13. Back then he was in the youth training centre.
Messi boasts of 507 goals scored in 583 matches. Currently Barcelona’s highest goal scorer and he is often considered one of the best players on the world.
Commenting on the new deal, Barcelona’s president, Bartomeu, said he always knew Messi would stay.
