Champions League: We have 13 COVID-19 positive cases – Tottenham coach, Conte confirms

Tottenham Hotspur manager, Antonio Conte, has confirmed that at least eight players and five staff have contracted COVID-19.

Spurs host Rennes in the Europa Conference League on Thursday.

However, UEFA regulations stipulate the match cannot be postponed, unless a club has fewer than 13 players available or no registered goalkeeper.

Conte’s men need a win against the Ligue 1 side to stand a chance of progressing into the last 32.

“The situation makes me very upset because the situation is serious.

“It’s contagious and there is a big infection. Now we are a bit scared because tomorrow we don’t know what will happen,” Conte said.

It is believed Tottenham will approach the Premier League to postpone Sunday’s match against Brighton.
