Peoples Democratic Party, Ogun state chapter, said the exit of Doyin Okupe from the party is a big relieve.
Dr. Okupe, who is the former Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs to the former President Goodluck Jonathan announce his exit from PDP from his Facebook profile, saying the party could not be redeemed. He also spelled doom for the ruling party, All Progressives Congress, saying its fall is inevitable.
Reaction of the party was contained in a statement signed by Ogun state Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Bolaji Adeniji in Abeokuta and made available to FELLOW PRESS.
The party said it would not miss Mr. Okupe, since he was not made any fundermental impact. Adding that his exit would neither have immediate or long term effect on the properity of the party, either in the state or nationwide as a whole.
“Statement from Okupe is uncalled for, especially an elder who did not know his limits of speech and goofed with great damage.”
The party also noted that Okupe’s decision is selfish and stands alone to voice backwardness and doom.
“We find his statements shameful as he did not mean well for the party. Now when party stakeholders like senators, ministers, governors, and BOT members are making sure they resolve issues that the party is passing through irrespective of Supreme Court decision; Okupe is busy making negative comments”, the statement reads.
Reacting to comment that the party is irredeemable as many factions, the party confessed they are having issues of some pushing for personal ambition of their sponsor but boasted of PDP leadership to remain sacrosanct and incontrovertible.
