Moses Alake, the Deputy Governor to Oyo State governor, Abiola Ajimobi, has opened up on his ambition to replace his principal when his tenure ends in 2019.

The deputy governor observed that he is the best candidate having critically checked the profiles of those who are eying the number one office in the state.

Alake declared his desire on Tuesday to the All Progressives Congress at the party’s secretariat in Ibadan, adding that he had the required experience to be the next governor of the Oyo State having served at different political capacities, especially the six years as deputy governor.

Alaka’s declaration came in the wake of Oke-Ogun, his community agitating to produce the next governor for the state.

Alake stated, “The governor has performed very well and there is a need to continue his good and quality work. As a loyal party man, who has been in the progressives fold all my life, from the days of the Action Group, the Social Democratic Party and now, the All Progressives Congress, I have enough experience to succeed the governor.”

The APC chairman in the state, Akin Oke, commended Alake for coming up to declare his intention, but said the party would still go through the democratic process to choose who would be the flagbearer.
