Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has expressed his unwavering commitment to his wife, Margaret Brownson. In a heartfelt appearance on the Honest Bunch Podcast, the former governor of Anambra highlighted the strength of their relationship, describing it as an unbreakable bond that transcends traditional vows.
Obi conveyed that his love and dedication to Margaret would remain steadfast under any circumstances, stating that nothing—neither infidelity nor violence—could alter his commitment to stand by her for life.
He asserted, “No matter what my wife does today, I can’t separate from her. I can never. Even if she were to shoot me, as long as I’m alive, she’s my wife.”
He further emphasized, “Whatever she does, I won’t marry anyone else. She’s my wife. If she has an extramarital affair, that’s her business. It won’t reflect on me; they’ll say Peter Obi is a good man married to a promiscuous woman.”
Obi also shared insights into their differing lifestyles, explaining that even when traveling together, they may choose different classes on the plane—she in business class and he in economy—reflecting their individual preferences while maintaining mutual respect.
The couple has been married for over 30 years, showcasing a longstanding partnership built on understanding and loyalty.
