U.S.-based philanthropist donates desks to primary school in A’Ibom

A U.S.-based philanthropist, Mr Iniubong Unah, has donated desks, worth thousands of naira, to Lutheran Primary School, Ikot Obio Offong in Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area (LGA) of Akwa Ibom.

Unah, who was represented by Mr Solomon Andrew, during the presentation of the desks on Wednesday, said the donation was to create a conducive environment for academic advancement.

He said that the donation was motivated by his desire to bring back to his alma mater and encourage the pupils to study in a better learning environment.

Unah added that the donation emphasised the importance of education and the power of communal support.

He encouraged the young pupils to view themselves as seeds, with their primary goal being continuous growth in all aspects of life.

“In spite the chaotic and competitive nature of Nigeria, it is our unwavering drive to succeed. The desks donated symbolise the support necessary to nourish your academic growth,” Unah said.

The philanthropist urged the pupils to strive to grow not only personally but also collectively, as it opens doors for opportunities and greater accomplishments.

Responding, the Headmaster of the School, Mr Samuel Daniel, expressed gratitude for the donation.

Daniel said that the school was founded in 1945 and commended Unah for his contribution, stressing that it was an act of kindness.

He appealed to government to help in the construction of perimeter fencing to safeguard the school property and prevent encroachment.
