Shipwreck: 29 crew members rescued in Iran’s southern waters
A local Iranian official on Thursday said 29 out of the 30 crew members of the Emirati merchant shipwreck have been rescued.
Director General of Iran’s Bushehr Province Crisis Management Jahangir Dehqani told official IRNA news agency reported that two lifeboats are operating at the accident zone to rescue the last crew member.
Earlier in the day, IRNA reported that the ship belonging to the United Arab Emirates sank 30 miles (48 km) from Iran’s southern port city of Assaluyeh with 30 crew members floating on water.
The Emirati cargo ship carrying vehicles sank in bad weather conditions, it said.
