Photos of two suspected Boko Haram members have been released by the Nigerian Defence Headquarters. They were captured this week by troops in Maiduguri, Borno State.
Statement from Defene HQ reads:
The suspect who gave his name as Abubakar Sadiq (left), works as night watchman to one Muhammad Daggash. A closer look at him shows that he was suspect number 28 among the suspected Boko Haram terrorists that were declared by the Nigerian Army last month.
Mohammed Usman, (pictured right) was arrested at Abuja Talakawa Ward in Maiduguri yesterday.
Nigerian Army is constantly winning the battle against the insurgents Boko Haram and planned to meet the target deadline given them by President Muhammadu Buhari to overcome insurgency in the country.
Though cases of explosions still persists in the eastern part of the country as it recorded one yesterday at Yola in Adamawa State, and twin explosion today in Kano.
In a related development, an illegal factory has been discovered in Borno responsible for making rocket for Boko Haram.
According to Press statement from Nigerian Army, the Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman said these were discovered in Jamrari, Borno State.
Usman said, “The troops of 111 Special Forces Battalion, 7 Division Garrison Nigerian Army, during a special raid operation carried out on Tuesday at Delwa general area, discovered and knocked out Boko Haram terrorists’ rocket factory at Jamrari, Borno State. This unprecedented development has put paid to the much touted ability of the terrorists to fabricate rockets and their launchers using rudimentary materials.
“This has further crippled the terrorists and greatly embolden the troops in carrying out more offensive actions against the terrorists till they are defeated. The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai, who is on constant communication with the troops, commended them for this singular act and other similar feats and encouraged them to do more more so that the terrorists are on the verge of being defeated.
“Kindly disseminate this information and attached photographs of Boko Haram terrorists’ locally fabricated rockets to the public through your medium. Thank you for your kind cooperation”, Usman said.
