Laolu Akande, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, to Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, has revealed that his principal is in self-isolation.

Akande, who shared a picture of Osinbajo having meeting via video conference call, said the VP is self-isolating in accordance with the “protocols” of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

This may not be unconnected to the fact that
Osinbajo has been in contact with Chief of Staff to President Muhammad Buhari, Abba Kyari, who tested positive to the COVID-19.

According to the report, the President was also tested for the disease on Monday but his result came out negative.

Akande on Twitter wrote, “VP Osinbajo yesterday at the office conducted his meetings via video conferencing, while observing social distancing.

“Today, he continues his work from the home office, as he is in self-isolation in accordance with NCDC protocols.”

Nigeria now has 44 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
