1.Arrested members of Don Waney gang have confessed to have worked for politicians. After Waney was killed along other five members by joint effort of the Deparment of State Service and Nigerian Army, the five gang were captured by police in Abuja. The senior member of the gang, Desmond Okobubo, said the executed a massacre in Rivers State which left 22 church members dead.
2.Erelu Mojisola, the wife of the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams, has said she did protested when her husband was named the title, saying she did not want to become a widow going by the gravity of the new postion Adams holds because of the myths surounding the title.
3.The Arewa Consultative Forum as set up a committee of inquiry to investigate the killings in Benue that left about 100 persons dead reportedly perpetrated by herdsmen. The Pan-Northern group will seek to analyse how best the approved anti-grazing bill would perform.
4.African Union has asked President Donald Trump to apologize over comment credited to him referring the nations as “shithole countries”, and accused the him of racism and ignorance.
The outraged leaders said it was “extremely appalled at, and strongly condemns the outrageous, racist and xenophobic remarks by the president of the United States of America as widely reported by the media”.
5.The Special Assistant on Public Affairs to Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna has been called for arrest by the organised labour for his role in leading thugs who attacked workers while holding protest rally organized by the leadership of Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, Thursday.
6.Fourteen Nigerians resident in Saudi Arabi have pleaded for President Buhari’s intervention not to be executed, as one was executed last year in what they termed an hurridly manner. They were charged for drug-related offences and are currenly in prison in preparation for hanging.
