Against the backdrop of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, non-appearance in court, the court has summon his sureties to appear before it and also turned down application to withdraw in the surety capacity.
Ogechi Ogbonna, lawyer to one of the sureties, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, had informed court of his client’s intention to withdraw as surety to Nnamdi Kanu, saying he last saw the IPOB leader on September 11.

Reacting to the application, Justice Binta Nyako ruled it out, saying Abaribe’s application could not be entertained until Kanu is produced to the court.
Other sureties who stand for Kanu are the Jewish High Priest, Emmanu El-Shalom Oka BenMadu, and an accountant, Tochukwu Uchendu.
They have all bonded a sum of N100 million naira to secure Kanu’s bail.
