BBC salaries of top-earning staff leaked, as Evans takes home £2.2m

Now there is little left to imagination about the earning the giant media, British Broadcasting Corporation after its most-paid staff salaries have been exposed.

The leaked reported revealed that top-earning woman in BBC earns £1.5 million less than her male counterpart.

Presenter Claudia Winkleman is paid just under £500,000 for her roles on Strictly Come Dancing and Radio 2, while Top Gear host Chris Evans receives an incredible £2.2 million paycheck.

The figures also reveal two-thirds of the highest paid talent are men, with just one third women.

Many BBC figures have welcomed the unveiling of their salaries, including Evans himself.

“I think this is the beginning of it [the gender pay gap] being redressed, I imagine,” he said outside the central London studio this morning..

“I think the most important thing is that we’re the ultimate public company and therefore I think that, on balance, it’s probably right and proper that people know what we get paid.”

The highest-paid stars have now been leaked by Piers Morgan.

He revealed the salaries of the following famous faces:

  • Chris Evans: £2.2m-2.49m. Chris Evans earns up to £2.49million for his Radio 2 and previous Top Gear work
  • Gary Lineker: £1.75m-1.79m. He is the host on Match of the Day. Match Of The Day host Gary Lineker is the second highest-earning man in the BBC
  • Claudia Winkleman: £450,000-£499,000. She is the top-earning woman – but still earns £1.5million less than the highest-paid man
  • Graham Norton: £850,000-£899,000
  • Clare Balding: £150,000-£199,000
  • Jeremy Vine: £700,000-£749,000
  • Huw Edwards: £550,000-£599,000
  • Fiona Bruce: £350,000-£399,000
  • Dan Walker: £200,000-£249,000
  • Derek Thompson: £350k-£399k
  • Amanda Mealing: £250k-£299k
  • Adam Woodyatt and Danny Dyer: £200k-£249k
  • Lacey Turner: £150k-£199k
