- Event to Emphasize Prayer and Worship for U.S. Leadership
Acclaimed Nigerian gospel minister and pastor, Nathaniel Bassey, has been invited to lead worship at the U.S. Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast on January 20, 2025, in Washington, D.C.
The faith-based, non-political event, hosted by Reverend Merrie Turner, will take place at the prestigious Waldorf Astoria Presidential Ballroom. It precedes the swearing-in ceremony of President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance.
The breakfast will feature prominent speakers, including civil rights advocate Dr. Alveda King and Pastor Mario Bramnick, in a gathering aimed at seeking divine guidance and blessings for the U.S. government.
Bassey confirmed his participation through Instagram, writing, “Let’s raise a sound in America. See you on January 20, 2025.” Known for his soul-stirring worship music and the global Hallelujah Challenge, the pastor continues to inspire audiences worldwide.
In 2024, his influence was recognized in Albany, New York, where the city’s mayor declared October 6 as “Pastor Nathaniel Bassey Day” in his honor.
The prayer breakfast underscores the importance of spiritual unity and prayerful support for national leadership. Bassey’s participation adds an international dimension to the event, reinforcing the universal power of worship and faith.
