A business woman was on Friday’s night killed by suspected hired assassins in Kulende area of Ilorin, Kwara state.
The gruesome murder of the woman popularly known as Alhaja has thrown the residents of the area into mourning.
The business woman was reportedly murdered by her assailants in her shop around 10.00PM on the fateful day.
Though, there was no clues yet about what informed the killing of Alhaja, she had been buried last Saturday in accordance with Islamic rites.
The spokesman of the state police command, Ajayi Okasanmi confirmed the murder of the woman.
He said some suspects had been arrested in connection with the killing of the woman and would be charged to court soon.
Also, the Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) yesterday paraded five persons suspected of criminal conspiracy and theft of 80 bags of cement at Lafarge cement depot, Ilorin.
The state Commandant of NSCDC, Pedro Ideba while parading the suspects at the state command office, Ilorin said that the officers and men of Ilorin West divisional office made the arrest around 5:am on Sunday in Ilorin based on intelligent information
The commandant said that he prime suspect, Olamide Ayeni, 24, was a security and store keeper of Lafarge cement Depot along Egbejila road, Ilorin.
He said that the suspect facilitated the crime while the buyer, Suleiman Mamood Agboola, 35 , the truck driver Rashidi Olori, 35, the motor boy Kasim Akorede, 20, and the connector Azeez Musa, all admitted to the crime.
He said the command would handover the suspects to the police for further investigation.
