Osinbajo visits collapsed Mokwa-Jebba bridge, promises repair within 14 days

Professsor Yemi Osinbajo, Nigeria Acting President was at the collapsed location of Mokwa-Jebba Bridge, Niger State to access the level of damage and he promised that the Federal Government would repair it within two weeks.

Accompanied by Babatunde Fashola, Minister of Power, Works and Housing; and Niger State governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani, Osinbajo enjoined the motorists plying the bridge to exercise patience.

The bridge collapsed on June 11 as a result of flood. However the Acting President has promised to provide alternative bridge in the next 14 days to facilitate easy movement while traders convey their goods.

His words: “We have come here to look at the bridge because this road is very important to us as a government and this axis is very important to motorists and the country.

“The Federal Government will make sure that the collapsed bridges along Tegina/Mokwa and Jebba/Mokwa roads are done immediately and all repairs on the roads are done.

Osinbajo promises to fastrack the repair within 2 weeks

“We want you to be patience with us, as shortly the bridge will be finished in the next two weeks,’’ Osinbajo said.
