Popular skit maker and activist, Debo Adedayo, known as Mr. Macaroni, has defended his decision to avoid interactions with Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, citing personal experiences of alleged mistreatment by the government.
The matter arose after an X user, @OyesileJohn, criticized Macaroni for his perceived disregard for the governor. The post read:
“To d’ifa fun a certain Macaroni who, in an attempt to please the mob, snubbed the governor of Lagos State. Omo ase.”
The post sparked mixed reactions, with many defending Macaroni for standing by his principles.

In response, Macaroni reiterated his stance in a series of tweets, stating:
“I will continue to snub your Governor. He doesn’t mean anything to me, neither do you nor your father. I love that you slaves bring this issue up all the time. For every time you do, I will send you to your masters.”
Explaining his decision, the skit maker recounted his experience of being allegedly detained and dehumanized during the #EndSARS protests.
“I can never mingle with the government that stripped me naked, beat, tortured, brutalized, and dehumanized me,” he said. Macaroni also revealed that during his detention, he was told by police officers to “stop disturbing the governor.”
The exchange has reignited conversations around the treatment of activists and government accountability in Lagos State.
