- Government Highlights Progress of Economic Reforms
- Urges Leaders to Prioritize National Interest Over Personal Agendas
In response to recent remarks by His Highness, Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II, on the economic reforms under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, the Federal Government has emphasized the importance of collaboration and constructive dialogue in addressing Nigeria’s challenges.
The Emir, speaking at a public event in Lagos, acknowledged the necessity of reforms but criticized the administration while admitting his reluctance to “help the government.”
The Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, described the Emir’s stance as disappointing, especially given his background in economics and previous advocacy for similar reforms.
Idris highlighted that the Tinubu administration’s policies, including the removal of fuel subsidies and the unification of exchange rates, are already yielding positive results such as increased investor confidence, improved foreign reserves, and sustainable fiscal management.
He called on leaders to rise above personal grievances and support efforts to rebuild the nation for the collective good of all Nigerians.
