Updated: Kenyatta Widens lead, Odinga trails

With 85 per cent of ballots counted in the Kenya presidential election held Tuesday, incumbent Uhuru Kenyatta has widened his lead over his main challenger,Raila Odinga.

Kenyatta now has 7092508 votes, ahead of Odinga with 5721889 votes. With the tally so far, Kenyatta has polled 54.89 per cent, while Odinga trails with 44. 28 per cent.

Since the commission began publishing the results, Kenyatta has maintained the 10 percentage lead, contrary to pre-poll predictions that the two candidates were heading for a photo-finish.
