Bisi Akande’s wife dies at 73, burial July 13
Mrs. Omowumi Akande, the wife of a former governor of Osun state has died after slight illness, aged 73 years.
She died at a private hospital Tuesday night in Oyo State, Femi Akande said in a statement on behave of the family, and that she would be buried in Ila Oragun, Akande’s country home on Thursday.
The statement in parts reads: “The family of Chief Bisi Akande, the Asiwaju of Ila Orangun, announces the passing to glory of our matriarch, Chief (Mrs.) Omowunmi Akande.
“Our mother slept in the Lord at 4.30pm on Tuesday, July 11, 2017.
“Aged 73 years, she will be buried at 10am tomorrow, July 13, 2017 at the Ila Orangun country house of Chief Bisi Akande. May her soul rest in peace, amen.”
Meanwhile, the Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, Senate President Bukola Saraki, Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode and hosts of others dignitaries have expressed condolences on the death of the wife of the first interim National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress.
