The police command in Bayelsa have sued 15 suspects to the state’s high court for stealing jewellery worth not less than N200 million belonging to the former First Lady, Patience Jonathan.
The accused are also been arraigned by the police for plotting to kill the wife of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, The Nation reports.
Although slammed with a 17-count charge that border on conspiracy to commit murder and the crime of theft, the suspects pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The charge document was was signed by S. A. Ofoegbu who is a member of the legal state criminal investigation department in the state.
The names of the accused persons are listed below:

9. Emmanuel Aginwa

12. Wariboko Salome
13. Sahabi Lima
14. Reginald Sunday
15. John Dashe.
Some of the counts stated by the police against the suspects are: “All the accused and some at large, sometime in the month of June,2019 at Otuoke community in Ogbia local government within the Ogbia Judicial Division of the state High Court did conspire to kill Her Excellency, Dame Patience Jonathan, former First Lady.
“That you and some other persons at large, on the same date and place aforementioned Judicial Division of Bayelsa did steal seven gold bangles and jewellery, five Samsung Air Conditioner, Two sets of upholstery chairs, six Samsung flat-screen television stands at two hundred Million naira (N200,000,000). These are property of Dame Patience Jonathan.”
