Pandemonium took over Makurdi, the capital city of Benue State yesterday as youths locked down major streets over the death of more than 50 people allegedly perpetrated by herdsmen.
Thousands of youths were sighted around Wurukum roundabout and Makurdi Lafia Road, protesting over attack on Benue communities, even as police said it had eight herdsmen in Guma and Logo Local Government Areas suspected to have had in the killing.
According to reports from Vanguard, the protesters are more than 3,000, they stormed strategic roads around 8am, which first started as a peaceful protest but later turned road blocking, as scores of motorists were deprived of movement.
The protest went out of hand when the protesters sighted car that conveyed 6 bodies to the morgue in Benue State University Teaching Hospital.
Chanting war songs, the youths demanded resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari, if he could not put an end to the herdsmen killing in Benue and the whole country.
