FG Drops Treason Charges Against Minors in #EndBadGovernance Protests (Photos)

The Federal Government has officially withdrawn treason charges against minors involved in the recent #EndBadGovernance protests held nationwide.

On Tuesday, the case file was taken over by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN. The government informed the Federal High Court in Abuja of its decision to discontinue the case against the minors.

The application to discontinue the charges was presented by Mr. Mohammed Abubakar, the Director of Public Prosecution of the Federation (DPPF). This move was based on provisions of sections 174(1)(b) and (c) of the 1999 Constitution, as amended, along with section 108 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) 2015.
