Reno Omokri emerges Business Insider’s influencer of the year, Jonathan congratulates him
Former president, Goodluck Jonathan has congratulated Reno Omokri, his former aide during his tenure, for emerging as the Business Influencer of the year of Business Insider.
Omokri emerged winner capping above 70 per cent of the votes.
Jonathan in a congratulatory message wrote, “Reno, I am so proud of you for emerging as Business Insider’s Business Influencer of the Year. Your nomination was well deserved. And your victory, by 74.76% of over 200,000 votes, is an overwhelming vote of confidence on you by the international community. Your ability to influence business and political trends is very rare.
“I also am much honoured that you chose to dedicate the award to me. May this be the first of many more to come. Congratulations on this new feather in your cap.”
FELLOW PRESS reports that other contenders on the list include Vusi Thembekwayo from South Africa; Dr Ola Brown (Flying Doctors) from Nigeria; Victor Asemota and Tony Elumelu.
In total, 55 business leaders from across Africa were nominated in 11 categories.
