Banks will operate as usual everyday — Federal Govt assures Nigerians as lockdown is partially lifted
Banks across Nigeria will continue to operate as usual to meet the needs of customers, the Federal Government has assured even as it lifted lockdown.
According to the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, which giving report at the Presidential Task Force in COVID-19, Nigerians did not need to mob up at banks or ATM centres for transactions, adding that banks would open daily as usual.
His words, “We want to implore all Nigerians to not panic at the advent of lockdown ease, especially as banks and ATM venues.
“Banks will open daily and we will instruct our banks to ensure ATMs are loaded so that people who have no need to enter banks will not.
Mohammed noted that the reason for lockdown and social distancing would be defeated if mammoth crowd are found at banks justling to collect money or carry out other transations.
FELLOW PRESS reported that the Federal Government had on Monday eased lockdown as occasioned by COVID-19 pandemic ravaging Nigeria and global communities, which many states had followed suit.
Meanwhile, Federal Civil Servants from level 14 have been directed to resume work Monday (today).
