Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is giving candidates who wrote the 2017/2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Exam (UTME) opportunity to change either or both their courses and institutions of choices.

According to JAMB, the procedure for the changes will not close until the admission is finally concluded in all institutions.

Reasons candidates might change course or institution include having low score.

Most universities, or polytechnics have their cut off marks, Federal Universities mostly have 200 and candidate who score less than that will have no choice than to switch to other institutions who accepts lower than 200 marks, especially state-owned or private universities.

Such candidate also have option to switch to another course with lower cut off, in the same institution of choice in order not to risk the chance of losing out of the selection. If, for example, the cut off for Economics is 230 whereas such candidate has 210. The candidate might obtain change of course to switch to a course with lower cut off. If cut off for sociology or marketing is 210, he can switch to either of them.

Another reason is incomplete O’level results, and candidate will have to change to course that can accommodate the credit level he has.

Candidates might also obtain change of course or institution to make corrections to mistakes she made during registration.
