- Leadership Fallout: Suleman links hardship to poor electoral choices.
- Policy Concerns: Mohammed warns against irreparable harm to Nigeria’s economy.
Senior Pastor of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has blamed Nigeria’s current economic hardship on decisions made during the 2023 elections. Speaking at the two-day “Recovery Conference 2025” held in Bauchi State, Suleman criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration for lacking a clear vision and mishandling key sectors, particularly the oil industry.
“What Nigerians are experiencing is partly what they deserve. We warned before the elections, but people ignored us. The man who became president had no manifesto, just a sense of entitlement with his ‘it’s my turn’ mantra,” Suleman stated. He lamented the plundering of the oil sector, predicting that it could take Nigeria 10 to 15 years to recover.
During a courtesy visit to Governor Bala Mohammed, Suleman commended the governor’s leadership but reiterated the need for Nigerians to make better voting decisions in 2027. Governor Mohammed echoed Suleman’s concerns, warning that Tinubu’s policies, including tax reforms, lack a national vision and could lead to further harm.
“I have nothing against the president personally, but his policies are taking the nation down the wrong path. Nigerians deserve better,” Mohammed remarked, vowing to continue holding the Federal Government accountable for its shortcomings. Both leaders called for reflection and reforms to mitigate the worsening economic crisis.
