President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accompanied by First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, arrived in Paris on Wednesday evening for a three-day state visit aimed at deepening Nigeria-France relations.

A statement from presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga revealed that the President landed at Orly Airport at 5:10 p.m., where he was received with full military honors by the French Republican Guard, signaling the ceremonial start of his visit.

The official itinerary will commence on Thursday at the historic Les Invalides, where French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron will host the Nigerian delegation. President Tinubu will also attend a grand reception at the Palais de l’Élysée.

The visit is expected to bolster cooperation in key sectors, including agriculture, security, education, health, youth development, innovation, and energy transition. Discussions will also focus on enhancing youth exchange programs and advancing skills in automation, entrepreneurship, and leadership.

Strategic diplomatic engagements will address mutual interests in finance, trade, solid minerals, and communication, with both presidents attending a France-Nigeria Business Council session to facilitate private-sector-driven economic development.

Onanuga added that First Lady Brigitte Macron and Senator Oluremi Tinubu will discuss initiatives to empower women, children, and vulnerable populations, aligning with Nigeria’s Renewed Hope Initiative.

The visit will conclude with a state dinner hosted by the French President, marking a historic moment in Nigeria-France relations.
