  • Economy poised for growth with 1.8 million barrels of oil produced daily.
  • Presidency urges synergy among aides to deliver on mandate.

Vice-President Kashim Shettima has reaffirmed President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to reshaping Nigeria’s fortunes despite the nation’s economic and social challenges.

Speaking at a one-day retreat for presidential aides and heads of units in his office on Saturday in Abuja, Shettima highlighted the administration’s progress and determination.

“President Tinubu is resolute in his efforts to change the fortunes of this nation,” Shettima said. “We want to leave behind a united and progressive country for the younger generation.

“Yes, the economy has faced significant challenges, but we’ve turned a corner. Currently, Nigeria is producing 1.8 million barrels of oil per day, and the economy is on an upward trajectory. I firmly believe that the new year will usher in exponential growth.”

The Vice-President urged the presidency’s aides to prioritize teamwork and collaboration to achieve the administration’s goals.

“The country is greater than all of us. Let’s work together as a team and as a family,” Shettima emphasized.

Fostering Synergy Among Aides

Senator Hassan Hadejia, Deputy Chief of Staff to the President (Office of the Vice-President), explained that the retreat was designed to foster better collaboration and streamline project execution within the Vice-President’s office.

“This retreat aims to enhance strategic communication, streamline project funding, and improve collaboration with ministries, departments, and agencies,” Hadejia stated.

Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, praised the efforts of the aides, particularly in the area of strategic communication. He called for further collaboration across the presidency to strengthen operations.

Dr. Aliyu Moddibo-Umar, Special Adviser on General Duties, encouraged aides to contribute their expertise and remain focused.

“Be humble and stay focused on the tasks ahead. The work we must deliver is challenging, but it’s essential,” Moddibo-Umar said.

This retreat underscores the administration’s emphasis on efficiency and unity in achieving its mandate of economic revitalization and national progress.
