The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has secured a significant partnership with Dangote Refinery to source petroleum products directly, aiming to enhance nationwide fuel supply.
This announcement was made by IPMAN’s National President, Abubakar Garima, during a press briefing in Abuja on Monday, following a meeting of the Association’s National Working Committee.
Garima revealed that the agreement, established after discussions with Aliko Dangote and his management team, will allow IPMAN to obtain Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), and Dual Purpose Kerosene (DPK) directly from Dangote Refinery.
This direct supply will bypass intermediaries, helping to stabilize prices and ensure a steady fuel supply for IPMAN’s extensive distribution network.
“We are excited to share that Dangote Refinery will be supplying IPMAN with essential petroleum products directly for our depots and retail outlets,” Garima stated.
He encouraged IPMAN members to prioritize sourcing from Dangote and Nigerian refineries, emphasizing the importance of this partnership for job creation, cost reduction, and supporting Nigeria’s foreign exchange market.
This development concludes months of negotiations and is expected to enhance efficiency, affordability, and economic growth, while aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s agenda for economic renewal.
The Dangote Refinery, Africa and Europe’s largest refinery, has already started producing petrol, diesel, and aviation fuel, and is set to supply over 30,000 IPMAN members and 150,000 retail outlets nationwide.
With this direct supply, IPMAN aims to reduce dependency on middlemen, lower costs, and create a stable and reliable fuel distribution system across Nigeria.
