Tinubu Congratulates Trump on Re-Election, Pledges Stronger Nigeria-U.S. Relations

Nigeria’s President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has extended congratulations to Donald Trump on his re-election as the 47th President of the United States.

The message was conveyed in a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, expressing President Tinubu’s optimism about strengthening Nigeria-U.S. relations in the face of today’s global challenges and opportunities.

“Together, we can foster economic cooperation, promote peace, and address global challenges that impact our citizens,” Tinubu stated.

Acknowledging Trump’s prior tenure as the 45th U.S. President from 2017 to 2021, Tinubu noted that Trump’s experience will support meaningful, reciprocal economic and development partnerships between Africa and the United States.

Onanuga added that Tinubu views Trump’s victory as a reflection of the trust and confidence the American people have in his leadership and vision.
